Pagona’s Place

The More You Weigh, The Harder You Are To Kidnap

Homemade Authentic Cretan Cuisine

You don’t need to be mad to eat at Pagona’s (although it helps). But you’ve got to be mad not to eat here.

Fantastic Food

Just up the road from our hotel, we ate here on our first evening. Wow! The friendly and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with exceptionally tasty food meant we returned several times during our 2-week stay. The slow cooked lamb in the oven was a particular highlight, literally fell off the bone and melted in the mouth!
Absolutely one to visit more than once, as there are so many wonderful dishes to try. The lovely lady who runs the place is fabulous, nothing is too much trouble, a real diamond!

Delicious!

Delicious Cretan cuisine with a great selection of fresh food. Amazing ambience of this cosy place is pretty obvious from the first second once you’ve there. Pagona is an incredible host who is attentive, professional, friendly, who pays equal attention to all customers. Bravo!

Super friendly and lively!

Pagona was great host, super friendly and lively. She goes an extra mile to help the customers. Pagona even offered to post my cards, which was very nice of her. The food was delicious, so was wine. We even got to taste wine before drinking. I had grilled fished which was delicious. Smoked pork starter was really good too. We’ve gotb feee desert and rake and other funny surprises. We had a real greek feast that god Dyonisus would be jealous. Totally recommend to visit if you want to feel the real greek hospitality.

Authentic and welcoming

We were looking for an authentic Cretan dining experience and came across Pagona’s place after reading several reviews. Let me just say that 5 stars isn’t nearly enough. From the time we set foot in the establishment we felt like were were at home – like Pagona was an old friend. She knows no strangers and does an amazing job. The food was spectacular – especially after we found out the whole restaurant was staffed by her, her mother, and her (I think) brother all cooking on a small kitchen stove. If you have time, please stop here for a true home cooked meal. If you don’t have time, make it. My only regret is we didn’t find Pagona’s Place earlier, but we dined there several times after we did find it.
